With a good chip tuner there are no disadvantages, only advantages. The most important thing when it comes to chip tuning and driving, is how you treat the engine. Quietly warming up and letting it cool down and timely maintenance are the most important factors to keep the engine in a good condition. There is no reason to be concerned about a reduced life span of your vehicle.

Every chip tuner has their own terms and conditions. Before chip tuning your vehicle, always ask what their conditions are and what kind of service they offer AFTER chip tuning.

It does not matter if the car is an automatic or manual transmission.

Nowadays, many automatic gearboxes can also be tuned, which only increases the performance of the car.

No trial period is offered as the chip is specifically designed for a make and model of vehicle.

For the most part, chip tuning is still misunderstood and may be perplexing to most car owners. Chip tuning consists of adjusting the fuel and ignition maps, as well as the timing of variable valve timing, rev limits, and speed limiters on the engine.

Performance tuning chips are the simplest approach to boost the performance of your car due to their ease of installation and maintenance.

The factory tunes of your car, set by manufacturers, are conservative. The fuel and oxygen ratios are normally richer, and the ignition time is usually lowered. In addition, the engines redline, and fuel cut are usually set at a level that the factory determines is a reasonable balance between performance and fuel economy.

According to the manufacturers, these adjustments made by tuning chips may jeopardize the vehicle’s safety and reliability. But we all know that this isn’t the case. Performance chips don’t take safety or dependability for granted. While factories frequently disagree, this does not imply that your warranty will be voided. Chips may also be simply placed and removed multiple times without affecting your car or the chip.

We recommend taking out the chip prior to a vehicle inspection to avoid the possibility of the car warranty being voided owing to the manufacturer’s misinterpretation of tuning chips.

Fortunately, most cars can be tuned.

There are always exceptions where there is no gain. These exceptions usually apply to vehicles or models of which the ECU (engine computer) security has not yet been cracked and/or where there is no tuning software available (yet).

A power gain between 20% and 30% is almost always achievable with chip tuning.

Through chip tuning you will get more power from the engine.

This means that your engine must work less hard for the same result.

For diesel engines a saving between 5 and 15% is feasible. For gasoline engines this is a bit lower and up to 5% is achievable.

Please note, however, that these figures are never guaranteed, since there are several factors that influence this margin. Think of driving behaviour, whether you mainly drive on highways or in built-up areas, how heavily loaded the car is, etc.
